Job Description

GDIT has an exciting opportunity available for a VTC Network Technician to provide VTC, AV, and network support for the ROK Drill Center (RDC) in Korea. Successful applicant must have an active Top Secret clearance, be a self-starter, and have a high degree of VTC, AV, and network knowledge.

How the VTC Network Technician will make an impact:

  • Manage and support the Audio/Video, Battlefield Visualization & Interaction, and VTC systems in the RDC.
  • Provide meeting set up, administration and troubleshooting of Crestron VTC systems.
  • Ensure VTC equipment is fully operational.
  • Configure and maintain the 2D/3D projector-driven system that provides operating pictures and interaction with multiple modalities, including physical sand tables, mobile devices, floor projection, and mixed/virtual reality head-mounted displays. Set up, configure, and manage this system by customer requirements.
  • Work as the local IMO for the Mission Training Complex – Korea (MTC-K).
  • Provide network support for internal MTC-K enclaves and work with 1st Signal for networking issues on SIPR, NIPR, and CENTRIX-K.
  • Troubleshoot the complex network issues and repair network connectivity on numerous devices, to include routers and switches in a telecommunications room.
  • Manage storage rooms that house items necessary for certain RDC functions. These items include maps for ROC Drill Rehearsals, map icons, and other accessories that may be needed for these events.
  • Maintain technical expertise in all areas of networks and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
  • May propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings.
  • Set up and configure AV systems with the ability to flex for specific customer requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you'll need to be successful:

  • Strong knowledge with demonstrated experience using VTC Codec's, Audio Mixers, Control Systems, AV automation, Wiring, Amplifiers, Microphones, Projection systems, Video Cameras, and other A/V peripheral equipment.
  • Familiar with Extron, Crestron, Bosch, and Legrand equipment, Christie Digital projectors, and Cisco TelePresence odecs for VTCs.
  • Excellent multi-tasking and organization skills. Must manage multiple simultaneous projects and prioritize assignments and tasks accordingly, remaining flexible to changing priorities and new initiatives
  • BA/BS plus 2 years’ experience, AA/AS/plus 4 years’ experience, or a High School diploma and 7 years’ experience.
  • 8570 IAT Level II certification.
  • Active U.S. Government TS/SCI clearance.
  • US passport valid for at least 2 years.
