Dishwasher [Canada]


 

JOB SUMMARY

The Dishwasher’s duties include washing soiled plates thoroughly and to wash and clean tableware, pots, pans and cooking equipment. They may also restock items, unload delivery trucks, help prepare cook stations, clean appliances and machines, empty and clean trash receptables and other duties as required. To be successful in this role, you should able to prioritize tasks in a busy setting and adhere to all food safety regulations and procedures. You must also have the ability to stand or walk for 8 hour shifts and lift at least 20 pounds.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 Ensure the availability of clean dishes by washing dishes, pots, pans, and flatware.
 Keep dishwasher clean and immediately report any functional or mechanical problems to the Executive Chef or Sous Chef.
 Monitor dishwasher water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle.
 Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment or utensils in clean and orderly condition.
 Place clean dishes, utensils and cooking equipment in storage area.
 Clean machines and appliances used in the kitchen, such as coffee makers, pots, and pans, mixers, etc.
 Unloading and storing deliveries.
 Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies.
 Sweeping and mopping floors, especially in the event that items are broken or spilled.
 Clean food preparation and production areas as required.
 Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas and rinsing garbage cans.
 Supporting other restaurant staff members by assisting with other tasks as needed.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 40 per week

Salary: $17.00-$18.00 per hour
